This upgrade requires a valid V7.x license for S5 and/or S7 for Windows®. If you are still on V6, the update to Version 7 is free and is the prerequisite for this upgrade. If you have no license at all, start with the full S5/S7 AI for Windows® package, which includes both the programming system and the AI copilot.

For SIMATIC S5: the IBH USB-S5-Adaptor for working at the panel with a modern laptop, the IBH Link S5++ to put the PLC on your network over TCP/IP, or the IBH S5 Current Loop Converter for a PC with a true serial port.
For SIMATIC S7-300 and S7-400: the USB-S7 Adaptor MPI, DP, PPI for direct MPI access, the IBH Link S7++ Ethernet to PROFIBUS gateway, or the IBH Link S7++ HS in a DIN rail mount housing for permanent cabinet installation.
