USB-S7 Adapter MPI, DP, PPI
The USB-S7 Adapter MPI, DP, PPI is a USB to MPI/PPI or PROFIBUS DP converter for use with programming software or HMI applications.
It has a 1.2 m (approximately 4 ft) MPI connecting cable that plugs directly into the programming socket on the CPU, or into any other node on the MPI network. The LCD display shows the transmission rate and the MPI or DP address.
The housing contains a type B USB socket, and the adapter connects to the PC with the USB cable supplied. Power comes from the PC, so no separate supply is needed. The adapter can be used at any node on the MPI bus.
Programming software
To program and diagnose your controller once connected, use S7 for Windows®. If you also support SIMATIC S5 equipment, S5/S7 for Windows® covers both PLC generations in one package.
Other ways to connect to an S7 PLC
This adapter is the direct choice for working at the panel with a laptop. If you want the controller on your network instead, two gateways cover that:
